Kuhn, Walt

(1877-1949)
   American painter. Born in Brooklyn, he was a newspaper cartoonist and illustrator. Later he studied in Europe, returning to New York in 1903. He was allied with the Ashcan group of painters. He was the organizer of the Armory Show in 1913 which introduced European modernists to the American public. He painted portraits of show people.
